By the second or third hand, you should know exactly what's in everyone's hands.

Of course you play knowing you are your partner has the deck. And I've even seen where someone may keep off cards to give the dealer more cards to look through. But now you're not only giving them the oppurtunity to hand pick out of the remaining cards, but you're giving power to meaninless cards that only the dealer has the chance to pick. No one else has attempted to build a hand of off cards.

It's dumb. It's like playing rock, paper, scissors, but lets give one person the ability to come back with sledghammer.

I've never played where someone intentionally kept off cards to help the dealer. That's just dumb.

If someone has a lot of face cards, but no deuce to bid 14, they may not take cards to give their partner a chance to get a 5. I've never done it. I don't think it's really worth it, but I've seen it done.

The situation with keeping off cards normally happens when one of yrou opponents bids over 10 and you have a pile of shite and your partner is dealing. It basically gives you partner a better chance of setting your opponent. Ive done it before works some times and sometimes it doesnt.

I've always played minimum bid 7. Sometimes we do force bid 6, but that's it.

exactly. you can pass one non point card to your partner face up too (must be your only card and now you are out of the hand) where I grew up playing. St Charles Parish. If you keep off suit cards the 3rd player has a chance to catch the cards you hope your partner (dealer) may get. This sounds like a dumb move.

And if someone throws a peed on the trash pile whoever's hand hits it first gets it

ETA: never mind, I see you mean the actual trash pile. not a pile of off cards played.

But still the first one is a no

I've definitely seen the pulling a peed out of the trash pile thing . I think that's a little bush league, but it teaches you to pay attention to what you're doing. Never heard of passing cards.

I also grew up in St. Charles Parish, but that's the way we played it at Nicholls.

That's the exact reason. If you're dumb enough to throw a Pedro away in the trash, no mercy.

50% of the time I have gotten a peed in the trash pile, my partner threw it there.

Interesting. I've never herad of it done. Personally, I would consider that against the rules as I've always been instructed that you must throw away ALL off cards (active Pedro excluded) after the bidding has completed.
