Franklin was a celebrity who was known throughout the colonies and Europe. He was made a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences and was the most respected and well known colonist throughout Europe. He banged many wealthy French women who were married to aristocracy. He was greatly embarrassed by the English Parliment when they lambasted him in the cockpit. The cockpit episode was what turned him from the stance of reconciliation with the crown to Independence for the American Colonies. Yes, he signed the DOI. However, most of the signers did so in August and not July. Just a few facts to tell your whore if she mouths off to you about this again.

Franklin did not sign. He was considered a "founding father" because he was one of the first presidents (after George, I think)
