My stepdad is getting a liver transplant and my Mom is having a hard time with paying the bills.. they don’t ask for handouts and neither do I. His sister started a go fund me just to 5000 that can really help them.. They are half way to the goal and I was going to ask the tigerdroppings community to help.. However, I wanted to ask is that frowned upon or will I get banned if I post the gofundme link? Thanks for all your help. This is the best board on the Internet! Geaux Tigers!

There have certainly been similar threads here, and I have contributed to several. I have told my daughter a number of times, "You can't help everyone, but you CAN help someone."

Bad timing right now, though, in that the board is slow (not football season) and uncertain times/unemployment.

I hope things go well.

I wish your stepdad well. I had a liver transplant in January. It's great not being sick anymore.

Link it. At worst they’ll whack the thread. A ban would be too harsh.

It's only allowed when the recipient is a field hand of one of the admins, apparently.

It is amazing the difference. A family member of mine had a liver transplant a little over 4 years ago through the VA. The VA gets shite on alot, but his care was amazing. He had Hep C from a blood transfusion in the 80s while he was in the Army. Cured him first with Harvoni, and put him on the list. He was literally on the list for less than 48 hours. Everything has gone well, and we are hoping it continues.

OP, I hope all goes well for your family member. It is truly a new lease on life.
