Help Me Plan A Bachelor Party

My brother is getting married in the fall and wants to have his bachelor party in Austin on Labor Day weekend. Those details are set in stone.
There are seven groomsmen and 11 other dudes he wanted to extend invites to. We're got a rough itinerary of what we want to do, but I need some help on how I lock it in... Do I book the places first and then see how many have confirmed or do I lock in the number of people going and then make arrangements?

no cameras
Edit: Austin is fun place. A lot to do. If you can, plan your stops out accordingly. You could easily just pick the first 2 stops, start having fun, and let the night go where it may.
I would not book for 11 + people until it's confirmed though.
to the groom.

No.
Confirm with the guests first then book.

We just did this but for cabo and the place accepted paybygroup.com. It seems to work out really well

Shorten that list.

100% this.

The 18 is just the ones he'd be ok with coming. I think he anticipated some wouldn't be able to come. I think I'm going to ask him to rank them by preference and just stop when we get to 10 or 14 or so.

Recently had a Bach party in Austin. Here's my advice:
1. Get a lock on the people you have coming first. Usually it's best to keep the group a small as you can to make the planning and partying easier (i.e. not spending half you time pulling your hair out to tell people where to go).
2. Book a hotel as soon as you can since hotels will be pretty expensive that weekend (Notre Dame is coming to town to play UT).
3. Most of the places you want to go are downtown, but there are a lot of options beyond 6th street. I recommend going to Rainey street. It's classy, but not fancy and fun if you want to avoid the craziness of the dirty 6th.

Plan something out in Vegas instead

We're looking to airbnb it. And good idea about Rainey. I've been to Austin on a bachelor party before so I've got a decent idea on things to do.

I think I'm also going to build into the cost like 3 Uber rides. Would you think that's tacky?

That might put a damper on the night
My advice, know your group.
The whole too many chiefs, not enough Indians will ruin an otherwise fun evening

Yeah, I'm going to send the itinerary out when I ask them to confirm.
I've known all these dudes just as long as he has, so I don't anticipate that being too much of a problem.

I had my bachelor party in Austin. We got an Airbnb house on 6th street. Took uber down to the other side of 6th street and just walked around bars. Gotta get some BBQ for sure and hit up a taco truck for authentic al pastor tacos.
Be careful what strip clubs you go to because some are inhabited by cholos.

Was there for a conference recently and we stayed in an apartment in a place called the Railyard.
Rainey is definitely more chill than 6th street, though there was some "secret" bar on 6th that you had to have reservations to get in to that was pretty cool. Went to some nice craft beer place on Rainey. It all depends on what experience you want. If you're looking for loose sluts to party with, then 6th is your place.

For late night munchies there's also a great donut place on 6th.
eta: Voodoo donuts, you're welcome.

We were right across the street from a taco place that had great breakfast tacos
