FWIW I think EE does Luna for $10-$15 installed...closer to $10. I paid the extra for the higher end.....and haven't regretted it. Nothing but complements on my flip and I just got an offer over asking at a sales price 60% higher than what I bought the home for.

Thanks gents.

I was already leaning towards the Colonial White (top one) just because it was less busy and had a more traditional, upscale granite look. The Luna Pearl is cool and has that "shimmer" look to the cut stones within it (which I like), but you are right it is very busy and I'm afraid it could get outdated looking much easier.

I'll sure be glad when all of this selection process stuff is over and they can get started laying the foundation and building. The house is scheduled to be complete around mid-October and should be really nice. This is my first home purchase so I'm pretty excited to see how it all comes together. Thanks again for your comments.

No they don't. It costs close to $10 a foot for the slab for the fabricator.

I actually do not know what they are paying per square foot or exactly how many square feet of countertop we are talking.

Basically this is a canned home (1650 sq/ft craftsman style in a new subdivision) with a huge option/upgrade list for every room that you can choose from. The upgrade price from 2 1/2" thick formica on a large L shaped kitchen area with a double-countertop raised bar area is only $1100 - which doesn't seem too bad for an upgrade that gives so much perceived value.

I'm building now too and just went through selection of everything in the house.

Fun at first for the big stuff then it came to the tiny shite and I was ready for it to be over.

I went with a white marble with slight gray portions in it. Very basic looking, but the wife is going for an all white kitchen with our dark hard woods.

2 looks like the style of my grandmothers house.

I would go with 1.

I had a customer with the first picture and it was very difficult to choose a backslash.

White subway tile? Copper?

Both would look great.

as someone who just remodeled to an all white kitchen with white cabinets, granite and while tile floor.....never again white floors. I sweep 3 times/day and it never ends.

I did it as a income property, and the floors are teh reason I'm selling it....so I never have to deal with it again.

Got an offer for 60% over my buy in ~25% return after expenses in 6 months

That is the point I'm at too - my final selection meeting is tomorrow so its close to over.

Luckily this is just for me at this point, so I don't really have to gauge feelings with a wife and can just make it fit my style. I'm keeping it nice though and not embracing the bachelor pad look to keep future resale in mind.

Congrats on your house, I hope it comes together the way you envisioned it.

100% Colonial White.

That busy granite pattern is already outdated looking and you will get very tired of it.
