We just purchased a new house and it has a large granite island and we would like to match the counters with the same. Can anyone name this granite? Thanks!

Granite still "in" or Quartz is the way to go?

It might be Juparana granite from India. It has quite a bit of movement (the waves) in it. Normally folks won't go for granite with that much movement in it. You guys need to clean up the house bit as well, who's shoes are those left out? Good luck on never really matching it. That is probably a one-off exotic foreign granite.

Looks like shite tbh. Take it out back and use it to clean fish on. Go buy all new matching counter tops.

You must be new to the internet... You're bowing to a "granite" pun about rock/stone...?! You probably think that he's the coal guy in the room too, don't you...?

That's not granite. Granite is igneous.

That's a metamorphic rock.

I think it's Yellow River.

Yellow River granite

Instead of trying to match what exists (because slabs of the same granite can vary significantly), why don't you try using something different on the perimeter, like soapstone? Yellow River is pretty dramatic.

That's more a granite than what the OP has.

He has a diff rocktype!
