Nope. Amstel was acquired by Heineken in 1968. Amstel Light was introduced by Heineken in 1980 as Amstel Light. Heineken Light was introduced in 2005. They are two different brands and are both available today.

Every couple of years I get a strong hankering for some skunky heineken. I'll usually pick up a 22 ozer and drink it on my front porch in the hot summer sun and re-live a simpler time in my life for about an hour.

There was a guy at Harvest giving out free ones, but you had to take a picture with him for social media. I purchased my overpriced IPA’s and went on my way.
