Back in the good old days, mosh pitting didn't involve shite or piss.
We saw Stone Temple Pilots in Dallas. My ticket guy said "you want row (some row around 20) and don't waste your money on the front rows." We didn't understand until everyone in the front rows ran up front to do a mosh pit (sort of, since the seats somewhat interfered). When they all moved forward, our row became the de facto front row.
Early Pimpadelic (Dallas band) had the best mosh pit. While the guys were mosh pitting, lovely young ladies (and in the early days of Pimpadelic, they were just good looking your women - later it became porn stars).

Everything was going along fine, until the band broke into its version of "Brown-Eyed Girl."

This happened at Louder Than Life last year as well. I was there but not near the pit where it happened. Don’t know what band was playing either.
