We all know what the decision will be. And it's unfortunate for the Sterling family. They have to relive the horror of that night all over again knowing that no life should have been lost. Disregard the fact that Alton had a gun, high on drugs, selling illegal bootleg CDs, was a convicted predator and resisted arrest - none of that matters.
Those police officers were set out to end what could have been a very successful and prosperous business. Many people have an entrepreneurial spirit for a moment, but ask them 6 months into their business venture and that spirit is gone.
Here's a man that knew CDs were out an outdated technology, but still had the perseverance to generate sales month over month. It was an excruciating grind. Long hours that sometimes bled deep into the night. Check. Weekends off? Not here.
That's what I called entrepreneurship. He took someone's else's vision and work and made money off them. That right there is the American Dream. It's creating something out of nothing. Just think if he could have put together a sales team. What a force they would have been. What could have been. What could have been.
RIP Alton. It hasn't been the same without you.

There's probably 2-3 actual reliable sources in this state, and none of them are running their mouthes about it to random friends.
People forget that the investigation was turned over to the Feds. I would assume that with all of the turnover at the JD, this case got pushed way back to the list of important things to do.
