I'm speaking to my urologist again this week and will double check. We've gone through the different procedures but after the scope he thought th TURP would be best. I have a terrible time urinating.

How big is your prostate? Do you have a high median lobe? Is the prostate growing into the urethra? If no to the last 2 and your prostate is less than 80 grams then ask your Urologist about the Urolift. Better yet Google it.

I talk to the urologist tomorrow and will ask. It is growing into the urethra and bulging the bladder.

Seems like yesterday tOT was all about pregaming to hit the bars and what the daily frat level was. Now it's getting your prostate bored out so you don't have to get up and pee four times at night. SAD!

TURP was real popular back in the 1980's. But due to a complicated history of post-op complications and scarring, it's rarely performed nowadays. I say good riddance

You're going to love that catheter and pissing clots. I hope they do it with a Laser.

It depends on how large your Prostate is and how large the median lobe is. Too much protrusion into the bladder or too large of a prostate is no bueno for the Urolift procedure. The Urolift clips simply aren't big enough for that. The next step is the TURP.

I know a couple of guys who have had it and are pretty happy with the result since they could not pee before they had it. About three days of catheterization and then no problem going after that.

Once you piss out that final big blood clot, you will feel great.

Urolift is a good option for a select group of prostate shapes/sizes. They expanded the indications for Urolift not too long ago, but there's no surgery I see that I have to bring back for TURP as much as Urolift. The truth of the matter is that Urolift reimburses nearly as well as TURP for a fraction of the time spent. So some urologists with less scruples will offer it to everybody under the guise of less sexual side effects and just doing what the patient wants. Hopefully your urologist is not one of those.
