You want me to explain to you why NOLA's restaurant scene is better than Nashville and Austin??
A quick Google Gander has a bunch of critics' lists, some with quirky cities in the top 5. Buffalo, Portland, etc
But two things are consistent every list I read: New Orleans is in the top 5 of every list and Nashville is not.
Austin was in one guy's top 5.

Lived there for 10 years, I didn’t get to see the WWII museum. I want to go back for that, otherwise there’s nothing else I want to see.

I haven't been to Austin in a while.....I did pass through there last year on my way to Oklahoma and tried to find a decent place that wasnt a cookie cutter chain....
Spent a week in Nashville a few years ago and the best restaurant we could find was HUSK and it was very overrated

Went to NO briefly before going out on a Norwegian cruise. No issues.
We plan on spending a couple of my wife's travel nurse 13-week stints near BTR / NO here in the coming years. I'm thinking spring for the festivals, fishing, baseball etc. Then of course the fall for football. Thinking we'll live somewhere north of NO on a canal - close enough to drop down for bands and festivals but then get the heck out.
And btw, only Austin and Nashville have the music "aspects" that can compare to New Orleans. Two other places we are planning on living.

Restaurants are too subjective. This city is always going to be better than that city and vice versa when it comes to who has better food.
Taxes, quality school system, jobs, economic growth etc.
That’s the real measure of a city, not which one has better food.

“Defund the police” is quickly becoming a moot point. When the judges put the criminals right back on the streets, it doesn’t really matter much anymore.

Wife and I have season passes to Broadway at the Saenger and I'm in for three Saints games. Probably a handful of Pels games also. Waiting on Jazzfest lineup.

High School football and volleyball
The Saenger has full lineup and are sold out
The Hotels are getting booked up for Wedding season
WWII Museum is killing it
Mardi Gras is early this year
There a ton of shite coming up to do in the City

Heading there in a few weeks to enjoy the food, history, getting out on a charter to catch redfish and hang out with family.

You're actually going to pay someone to take you red fishing?

It's an old friend of mine that doesn't charge me, I just tip him for gas.
But even if it were a full charter, paying those a few times a year is still cheaper than owning my own 22 ft pathfinder to sit in my driveway 355 days a year.

yea
Nola has places like August and Commanders that are top of the top and then places like Brigtsen's, Clancy, etc that are really good but in today's world of restaurants why is NOLA better
Have you been to Austin and Nashville and eaten anywhere not on 6th st or Broadway?
Do you think NOLA is the best food city in the US at the moment? You thinks its better than Houston?
