it's a really long needle that goes through the skin and muscle into the joint
Well obviously that is different. I'm not stupid.
Just wondered how different the shots are strength wise, etc.

Or whatever. Under the skin. I'm dumb
Point was it's nowhere near as painful getting regular shots
Just saying that a flushot should be given in the muscle(IM)
Subq are the shots that are with shorter needles(ex: think an insulin shot)
Flushots typically don't hurt much when given. Your arm might just be sore later on. Worst pain from a vaccination I ever felt was the one for meningitis (menactra)....that stuff brought tears to my eyes. Felt like a tetanus shot x 10.

That's it. Yeah it was just sore a couple days

never in my life have I seen so many quack/idol worshippers at one place
not one person asked if it was the same arm as the vaccine either...
of course you don't like to hear it, you prefer sweet lies, you're more tuned into those

I'm hoping for best case scenario. I've never had shoulder pain and had no accident so I'm telling myself it's not a tear
Yeah and you were not doing heavy lifting with your job and were not working out crazy with weights either. My coworker likely hurt hers at work.

Had both shoulders shot up last week. Knee shot in September. One day pain then relief. Needles are your friend.

I've never gotten it myself but I've had to give it to patients and I've heard it burns like hell. We dilute it with lidocaine to help some. I always hate when I have to give a kid that. Most of the time it's a toddler and the dose is too much medicine for one injection so I have to get another nurse to help so we can give both shots at once.

On my 2nd round of shots this month due to bursitis and partial rotator cuff tear. Have had multiple in both knees and both shoulders. Sometimes I have residual pain, sometimes not. After the initial pain though the next couple days are awesome.
How long where the effects of the cortisone shot felt?
I had one in my shoulder around 4 weeks ago and I think it is wearing off now.
Posted on 11/4/15 at 10:49 pm to retired trucker
Why in the frick would I get a cortisone injection into the unaffected shoulder?
You're such a moron. You and rehtaeh would make a great couple
Now stop flaming me in my perfectly titled thread. There was zero reason for you to enter other than being an uneducated douchebag

Hey do you think it'd be ok to use some voltaren gel on it?
That stuff is the best pain reliever I've ever used

Has she posted lately or did she join the Mothership finally?
Posted on 11/4/15 at 10:53 pm to lsunurse

But she hasn't graced us with her presence in a couple weeks. I think she has half "her face" as her profile pic

It's very possible. What did you do to injure it? I've had a couple shoulder surgeries - the rehab sucks but I'm much better off now

Mostly better. Feel it when I lift arm to turn on light switch or raise arm when putting on suit jacket or dress shirt. Not painful, but I know it's there. Can't really sleep on my side on that shoulder. All those issues were gone for a year or so. No complaints, I can kayak, play golf etc so I'm good.
After first surgery the 4 weeks of PT was horrible as they tried to break through the scar tissue. I was bruised from them pulling on the arm. They eventually decided my collar bone may snap before arm moved like it should and did the second surgery. CPM chair was delivered to house before second surgery and I started using it same day as surgery while nerve block was still active. Capsular release surgery was amazing. The next day I Could raise hands to surrender or put them behing me as if being handcuffed. Could not believe the difference. I went from being pulled down the pt table by my arm to raising it on my own.
I was taking heavy pain meeds to attend PT to try to get shoulder to release And then it was like a well oiled machine after second surgery.
