My dad gets them regularly for back pain. Their benefit varies. Sometimes they help him for a while, sometimes not so much.

Had seven in my elbow. The first six didn't help for shite. The 7th did the trick. Enjoy

I had an impinged shoulder last year from heavy military presses. My shoulder started having this constant dull ache, which eventually led to hand numbness during sleep, and finally it led to where I wasn't sleeping at night. By the time I made it to the doctor, that freaking cortisone shot felt awesome! I was bracing for horrific pain, but instead the relief overshadowed the pain..

On my 2nd round of shots this month due to bursitis and partial rotator cuff tear. Have had multiple in both knees and both shoulders. Sometimes I have residual pain, sometimes not. After the initial pain though the next couple days are awesome.

I've had them for my psoriasis. Other than a mild discomfort during the shots I have never had an issue. I'm curious how a joint shot is different than topical.

Had one in my rotator cuff on felt almost immediate relief. I was feeling better before I left the office.

This is what I experienced - the instant relief was amazing!

It will hurt for a few days. The pressure of the injected fluid inside the joint is likely causing it. It will be absorbed into the surrounding tissue in 10-15 hours and will start to feel better. Injection helps for 4-7 weeks.

Had three series of shots... Then two shoulder surgeries a few weeks apart. Second surgery due to shoulder freezing up. After second surgery spent 8 hours a day in a Contunouis passive motion chair for 21 days. Oh yeah, had PT 3 days a week for 1 1/2 hours at a time on top of chair time....... Good times! Now 2 years later, pain in shoulder is coming back.

I was told I had worse case scenario kind of experience.

Edit: found pic of chair contraption. Netflix saved me

Point was it's nowhere near as painful getting regular shots

That sucks. Hope it gets better. We had a nurse that was out of work for 6 months cause of shoulder stuff.
