Jesus, talk about a whole new level of trashy.

My middle income arse pushing a cart down the aisles full of healthy food, carefully not getting the extremely unhealthy stuff.... also conscious of what I’m spending... Turn the corner and

BOOM!

Out of nowhere a family, complete with 4 children (ages 7ish to 12ish) pushing a full cart each- full of snacks and processed foods. Foods I wouldn’t think of giving a kid.

Get to the register, out comes that Louisiana purchase card. Had to be upward to $1000 worth of groceries. Glad I could pay for you and your 6 children’s groceries, ma’am.

Btw these were wypipo. Fred, don’t whack my thread or ban me please.

This is nothing new. You’re better for experiencing it.

I went shopping on the first of the month once when I lived in Memphis. You’d have thought landfall of a category 5 hurricane was imminent.

I would have absolutely no problem with restricting the foods you can buy with SNAP benefits. Limit it to uncooked meats, cheese, veggies, grains, fruits, milk and bread. Nothing sugary, no soft drinks or any kind of overprocessed junk food. And I don't want to hear any bullshite about how it would be too hard to implement because they already limit the foods you can purchase with WIC.

People who are probably on Medicaid stay healthier and we get more nutritional bang for the buck without spending more money.

Farmers and food producers lobby the shite out of legislatures to make sure their product is on the approved list. The seafood trade association paid good money so you can buy shrimp on your EBT card.
