I haven't read the thread, but the book PiHKAL by Alexander Shuglin is a must read for this. Shuglin is one of America's greatest scientists, and it is a shame no one really knows about him.

I'd love to get a grant to do work on MDMA. I've been obsessed with hallucinogens since I read Huxley.

Got me thinking...that'd be cool to have a story like this...when someone is tripping.

not to get too "rabbit hole" but it does make sense that if these substances allow a person to reach an enlightened state of being, that the powers that be would really want to ensure the masses couldn't reach such levels

Well, I'd imagine things like this would be what we would do in a hypothetical post-scarcity world. There is real potential in all the drugs that Dr. Shuglin and those like him distilled. I hope one day we can actually use them.

Square thinking at its squarest: if LSD doesn't make you a more productive tax payer, it's bad.

The trip is the greatness, the revelations are the achievements--most any voyager knows this.

Save that MDMA for night time. If it's hot out you might regret it, there's a comedown/crash that follows eating ecstasy or good Molly, and you will NOT want that to occur when it's hot or you still have to do your thing around people. However, if Bama is a night game and we are about to win, eat it with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter and then go where the people are celebrating afterwards... you will have the best night EVAAA. Then you will also be able to crash comfortably when you're ready to.

i mean you can eat E and go to bars with kids any time

i could eat E after LSU loses a heartbreaker to Bama and have the same "best night eva" b/c that's what it does

experiences 200,000 people and all the energy and shite they bring? now that doesn't happen too often and is totally different

Sounds like Bonaroo.

Your emotions would be on a whole different level after a big win. I guess if the weather was right, it would be great during the day. If it's hot like Louisiana likes to do well into November.... best of luck, and mix in water frequently!

This past year I did a few lines out of a chit-chat bag before the Arkansas game and nearly came to blows with 2 of their more retarded/a-hole fans there. Those "emotions" work both ways!

Also, yea, i didn't mean Tiger land to kick it with kids at Reggies, but more or less where your people would be out celebrating or tailgating after a big win. I can't be around a bunch of stupid kids when I'm really partying.

Yes. Loved the experiences. But anything that makes you feel that good can't be that good for you.

I've done every mainstream hallucinogen there is except mescaline. Always recreational though.

LSD was being experimented with by psychologists for therapeutic purposes in the 50s and 60s with very positive results before it was outlawed.

All through recorded history, in cultures all over the world hallucinogens have been used in spiritual rituals which would be akin to psychological treatment today. See ayahuasca used still by remote Amazonian tribes.

While I've only used seeking recreational fun, every experience I've had has been extremely positive psychologically. Obviously like anything, if done too much it can have very very bad side effects. But used correctly, in moderation and in the right environment it will be positive.

There are studies that show that when using LSD you're using different parts of your brain that aren't normally used. I truly believe that hallucinogens can be enlightening. I believe that my experiences with them helped change the way I think and view things for the better, and I believe that comes from the whole unlocking different parts of your brain thing.

I took acid and it was awesome

Happiest I have felt in a long time. Nothing couldve annoyed me. I set my hammock up at a waterfall and was there for about 2 hours just looking at the water and the trees. Everything was much more vivid, the trees looked amazing.
