100% yes. I'd do the counseling etc that's required (I've investigated the Oregon law but you have to live there for awhile) and be ready to roll. I'm a burden at this point. If to no one else but myself

Other people’s misfortunes should not make you feel positive..

Only once. Continually.

Then you should spend an afternoon watching Maury, Dr. Phil, Jerry Springer, Cheaters, etc...
When I get despondent over my personal debt, I go to the U.S. National Debt Clock. This always makes me feel much better.

you should spend an afternoon watching Maury, Dr. Phil, Jerry Springer, Cheaters, etc., then observe the wildebeests at your local Walmart, visit a local pawn shop or two, then back to the TV for either Cops or Live PD, or maybe one of those shows where people find love in prison, then finish it off with some reality TV such as Keeping Up With The Kardashians

I get depressed just thinking about doing any of that.

I wouldnt call most of those situations "misfortunes", most of that is the result of bad life choices.
On a side note, you baws have turned this into some serious deep shite...

I am right now. Took a new job and it's not working out.

Such a bummer. I had such high hopes.

If it is any consolation, I appreciate your candor on the subject.

We all have it coming. 100% of us are going to die. Everyone you've ever known or will ever know in the future is going to die.

Yeah I wasn't trying to get into that. I am not interested in the counseling. Im good, it's those left I think about.

It will be a relief for me.

First off, I am sorry you are suffering from this. I wish assisted suicide was legal everywhere. I hope you aren't hurting and it's good to know you are at peace with it. Your family will miss you, but be glad you aren't suffering and are in a better place.

I just went through this with my mom. She had breast cancer that spread everywhere and was in hospice care. I had to sit in a room and watch her actively die for 5 days, knowing she was in pain and the morphine wasn't enough. It was miserable for every single person involved. That's not how she wanted to go, she was ready but her body wasn't.

To the OP, yes there have been a lot of times in the past few years I've been depressed about my life. Lost my only sister to suicide 5 years ago, lost my dad to cancer on Thanksgiving and my mom 3 weeks ago. I'm 33 and it depresses the hell out of me that my son won't get to know them. The things you mention in no way make me feel better. What does is remembering the positives I have and embracing them.

HC you’re a strong feisty little firecrackers. You’re going to be just fine. You’ve been through more in the past 5 years that most people don’t experience in a lifetime. Plus you have Boo and your son. So much to be thankful for.

How long would you guess you have left?

Any regrets (other than your 23k posts here perhaps), or wisdom that you would like to share?

Hang in there HC. I'd read the thread about your Mom. I lurk in those more than comment.

No regrets Leroy. Mistakes plenty but no regrets.

Wisdom is the only things that matter are the people you love. All the other noise takes away from that.

About how old are you?

I am in my 50s and have started to ponder the subject matter. You never know when something like this can happen.

You left off "My 600 lbs Life."

No matter how pathetic you think you are, those shows will make you feel better.

Or you can listen to Dave Ramsey and hear about people that have $100k in credit card debt and work at a C Store.
