You mean the valuation of your assets will be lower. Losses are only locked in if you sell.

Think of it this way. Everything you buy for the next few months and all the 401k contributions you make will be at a decent discount.

Take it from someone who's been along for the ride through the dot com bubble burst, 9/11, 2008, dips in teens and then through the covid sell off. Time in the market is the most important thing. Most of the gains that you'll make over the years will be from just a handful of days. If you miss any of those days from having your money sidelined waiting to time the market, it'll be disastrous.

I ended up buying in a bit more yesterday. Considered it like a fire sale.
