Have we ever discussed Ronald Wayne, the 3rd co-founder of Apple?

Ouch
quote:
Ronald Wayne (born May 17, 1934) is an American retired electronics industry worker. He co-founded Apple Computer (now Apple Inc.) with Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, providing administrative oversight for the new venture. However, he soon sold his share of the new company back to Jobs and Wozniak for 800 US dollars, and later accepted $1,500 to forfeit any claims against Apple (in total, equivalent to $9,498 in 2017). As of August 2, 2018, if Wayne had kept his 10% stake in Apple Inc., it would have been worth over $100 billion, making him the second richest man on earth.

Jobs and Woz should’ve broken this dude off $30million or so. I mean that’s like $500 to them.

He said he didn’t have the stomach for it. Lives in a little desert town and doesn’t own anything Apple.

How would he be richer than Steve Jobs?

Why, they paid, and he accepted what was probably more than his share of the business was worth at the time, and he played no part in what Apple became in the future. Also, Woz's net worth from Apple today totals around 100-120 million depending on who you believe, so 30 million would be significant to him. Jobs walked away from Apple worth about 200-250 million, NexT and Pixar made him a billionare not Apple.

I love reading stories like this
If this guy can go through life without killling himself so can I

Also...
quote:
He sold the original partnership document in 1994 — the one he, Jobs and Wozniak all signed — for a mere $500. This was 14 years after Apple went public, and the company had already developed a cult following.
In 2011, the same document sold at auction for $1.6 million. Not understanding the intrinsic and market value of things is an expensive error to keep making.
