It wasn't for very long but my cousin and I were both thought to be dead for a few hours one morning.
Back in high school Went drinking with friends at my farm. I had rode out there with my cousin.
We got super drunk and stayed out nearly all night. My cousin dropped me back off at his house where my truck was parked and I went home. I knew id be in trouble because when I got home my dad had already left for work so he knew id stayed out drinking.
I passed out on my bed and awoke to one of my aunts screaming and crying and hugging me. She then proceeded to tell me that they had found my cousin's car burnt in a creek to the point there was hardly anything left, and he was most likely dead. They had assumed I was with him since they called my dad and he said I wasn't home when he left for work that morning.
As it turns out my cousin was alive and well. After he dropped me off at my truck he ended up going back out riding around and must have passed out and drove into a creek. He got out and proceeded to walk about 5 miles to the farm we were at earlier to call for help but the phones had been cut off.
He was found later that morning.
it was a complete shite show. on top of one of the worst hangovers ever. we were getting arse chewings by every person we made contact with. Well deserved I might add.

Once when we were kids, my brothers and a cousin and I were at a huge family gathering and decided to get in an old small boat on a creek that ran nearby and paddle up the creek. We went at least a couple of miles up the creek before turning around and paddling back, and were probably gone for about 2-3 hours. When we got back, all the adults were throwing a fit thinking we'd drowned or something. They'd even gone walking up the creek bank looking for signs of us. Coincidentally, they had found an old paddle floating in the brush along the creek bank and thought it was ours and that we had sunk the boat and drowned leaving the paddle as the only sign we were there.
I don't know why they thought we had drowned. We were all excellent swimmers and the creek was relatively small, so even if we had somehow sunk the boat, we could have easily swam to safety. But it sure made for an interesting family gathering.

As the legal drinking age is 21,
I was legally drinking at 18. Even after it first went up to 21, Louisiana didn't want to do it and only did so the feds wouldn't cut off highway funds. It was only illegal for you to drink it (punishable by something like a $20 fine), but bars and liquor stores could still sell it to you. It wasn't until several years later that they closed the loopholes and actually enforced the drinking age of 21.

About 5 years ago I was in cali and I stopped by one of those road side grocery stands to pick up a bag of fresh picked fruit and met a very large man named Paco who had was running it that day. He dint speak any English but we had Zero probs communicating in the portapotty about a half mile up the road where I picked his fruit for the 1st time in his whole life.
I ended up driving him to Vegas where I taught him how to put on lipstick and walk in heels like a real fancy lady. I was gone 4 like only 3 or 4 days but could have stayed longer if my bae didn't blow up my phone erry couple hours aksing where his oranges were. I never saw Paco again.

when I went on my first mini tour, it was supposed to be for 4 days, ended up being 9. I was 15 and everyone didn't have access to a phone. They didn't know what I was really doing so they put out a missing person report.
I came home with $3000 in cash which ended up being more awkward then I foresaw.

Who are those ugly fricking people in your profile picture?
Now on topic. No, I can't say I have ever gone missing. When I was younger, before everyone had a cell phone, there were a few times when my parents didn't know where I was.. It was usually during the Summer when all the kids in the neighborhood would play outside all day and could be at a number of people's houses at any given time. But they knew I would always be back home before it got dark so..

I ran away from home when I was 15 and was missing for about 24 hrs. I stole my sisters pink bike and road from China Texas to lumberton on canal banks. Only thing I brought with me was a club magazine and even maganged to rub one out along the way
