Schools are also not built like cinder block bunkers anymore, but more like cheap arse shopping centers.
It’s most probably the admins not wanting to take the fall of anything happens. Lawsuit or not, someone would go down if anything happened.

how much liability does a school have? no one seems to know. Everything is done out of an abundance of caution, except actually educating students it seems. Test scores still suck, kids still seem unprepared for the next chapter or challenge, and schools keep worrying about litigation. Wish they'd put as much effort into educating as they do risk management.
