Sandals is like a cruise staying in one place. The food and drinks are meh, but you can go off on whatever island you are on and get better and actually spend time on the island unlike a cruise where you basically run around wherever you stop as fast as you can.

I loved the Sandals I went to and had a blast.

Different strokes.

If someone can't enjoy drinking rum all day around fun people, something is wrong. I like relaxing on vacation in a place that's not my home.

Fwiw, booze cruise to dunns river and partying back. I peed my swim trunks 3 times.

It's like the Walmart of vacations but serves a purpose for those looking for that

Nice, I went to Ocho Rios. Tipping our bartender $50 was the best $50 a ever spent. O'Daine at the great house swim up bar.

Pretty much, I much prefer vacations where I plan every detail and see a ton of different things, but every once in awhile something like sandals is good to recharge the batteries without having to really do a damn thing.

sandals grande st Lucia resort for our honeymoon

Just did this in January

I recommend the helicopter flight from the airport to the resort. Also the Joe's Knows tour and the zip line. Go make dinner reservations right when you get there.

St Lucia

I will second the Joe know tour. It was the best excursion on the island. Zip lining was fun as well as horse back riding into the water. We had great meals nightly. I will do a sandals resort again.

My fiancé and I are getting married in January and will be leaving for the Sandals St. Lucia on January 27th.

Any tips for maximizing the fun/adventure? I read some of y'all have been to this resort before so just looking for some input.

I'm an explorer (wanted to originally buy a Groupon honeymoon for 7 days split between Italy, London and France) while the fiancé likes relaxing.

For St Lucia, we took a boat to Martinique to explore. I think the captains name was Lolo. Basically a booze cruise to another country, but well worth the price.

Did this in April at st Lucia grande sandals. .. we had an awesome time

Worst part was ride from airport to hotel. The island had like 3 different sandals on it.

I suggest the catamaran cruise/hot spring volcano experience. Great stuff. Food was great. All you can drink and eat.

Food places aren't as bad as folks say. You can eat whenever you want. Only a couple of the places needed reservations. Best part was eating and then getting up and leaving with no bill or tip
