Saying you smoked weed that was laced with something is such a classic excuse.

Yeah I don't get that either.
lets (Dug dealers) sell product and put different drugs in it, but charge the same.
I get that some have had laced stuff, but it's probably not as common as ppl make it out to be. I also get that by lacing it, it would/could make it "addictive." Doubt it happens anymore.
Just like people who you get it off say, "this is medical grade shite". Most drug dealers don't know what they have.
I know that's contradictory, but most weed isn't laced.

i went through a short dab (wax) phase and it is a real drug man.. not nearly the same as occasionally loading a bowl or smoking a j

I'm late to this thread...but wax is no more addictive than a joint....your family member is just weak minded, or hooked on something else.
