I think you run a greater explosion risk than addiction. It’s made by putting weed in a sleeve( PVC pipe ) and running propane through it. Don’t do it inside near a pilot light!

the only "withdrawls" someone "addicted to marijuana" might have would be , trouble falling asleep at night and a little cranky, aloof, and depressed if they aren't stoned. might last 24 hours max.
if they are experiencing any physical symptoms, like nausea, stomach cramps... then they are on something else.

I’m in my mid 50’s, and don’t smoke or do any drugs, but hell, I thought this was common knowledge.

There are a few different methods. Butane is the cheapest and shittiest.

He is lucky he didn't overdose. Contrary to popular opinion there are hundreds of fatal marijuana overdoses per year. With these concentrated forms it is only going to get worse.
