Oh, shut the frick up! Don't frick up what has been a productive thread with your ignorant, partisan nonsense. Especially with an opinion as dumb and ill informed as that one.
Sadly, OP shared your opinion until reality hit.

So affordable that as a healthy 25 year old single male with absolutely zero health issues, health insurance will be my number 1 or number 2 line Cost each month? Wrong. It is beyond crippling. And why I, and many many other young healthy people will not have insurance.

The ONLY reason I really wanted insurance this year was I have four wisdom teeth I need pulled and I wanted to go to an oral surgeon and not a dentist.
A couple of tips
If you have to go to a dentist for wisdom teeth, go to a female. A woman is less likely to muscle it out like a guy.
Have the dentist prescribe you Valium to take prior to the appointment. Add some nitrous on top, and it won't be that bad.
And you can always split it up, take the top out one day then the bottom a week or two later.

Has anyone given up on getting health insurance?
To me it has just gotten so unaffordable under Obama.
I was in this same boat. Got laid off when my company shutdown after being with them for 25 years. Had to carry my own insurance for most of this year and the rate were bad enough and would have doubled this year. Luckily I am with a new company and I only pay $1.15 a week for health insurance. If I ever have to go back into the open market I will just go without. Its completely unaffordable for the average person.

So, are you saying as a healthy young adult with zero health issues, I should have to pay 10k plus a year for health insurance? When in reality I will use it for a flu shot and a checkup. Nah, I'll pay in cash. I'll gladly take my "penalty" (read HEALTHY TAX) For this year and the coming years.

i blame the liberal fricktards who think poor people should have the same access to healthcare as the people who pay for theirs. If you can't pay go to free clinics or charity hospitals...if you want the same healthcare get a job that allows you to afford insurance

I have my issues with Obamacare, but this is a bit ridiculous. There was never a time in the last 25 years where health insurance wasn't the #2 or #3 most expensive bill for a 25 year old each month.
A bronze plan in LA for a 25 year old making $60,000 is ~$255/month, $3,000/year. The penalty for not having coverage is $1,500 for the year. It is ridiculous that the government forces you to purchase it - don't get me wrong - but going without insurance is not exactly a wise decision financially.

Not that I am at all backing our current healthcare system, but you do realize many of the poorer people aren't complaining about doctor visits, right? Most of what I've seen from the poor side is about medications. People with conditions that require medication that is $1000 dollars per month, whereas their marketplace insurance which covers most of their medication is $500 per month.

Don't be retarded. I make ~$45k and also get some help from my folks for things, and I'm still struggling to pay $435/month for my gold plan. And I don't live above my means. Don't act like any person can just up and grab a $45k+ job. There are college graduates in my circle making $15k less than that.

Bruh. You serious? 25 making a good 60k? shite son, I wish. Of the many many people around my age I know, only one makes that. And that's because of nepotism and a family company job.
You hiring for 60k? I'll do it. Whatever it is. I'm in. I can make 60 k go a Longgggg arse way
