After a divorce and few years ago, I went on a few online dates. Met a few decent girls. Met a few to hook up with and mostly total weirdo trainwrecks. I walked out on those quickly.

you are doing it wrong.
does she love you?
do you love her?
is she open to whatever it is you are into sexually?
talk with me about whatever you want to discuss. don't add the requirement that she have a man's brain.

Nah, I have a strong personality IRL. The girls I date are usually considered intimidating by most guys, and will dominate them in conversations. I enjoy the challenge. Anything else, and I get bored.
I've had awesome dates where we basically argued the whole time (not bad arguments). The last one was like that. Girl even called after she got home and said it was the best date she'd ever been on. Only problem was that we had zero in common.
The girls I won't even bother with are the ones who think life is supposed to be like Cosmo and Pintrest. They're good for one thing, and one thing only. That's why online dating is slim pickings in New Orleans and BR

I use dating apps all the time in a somewhat big city. It's an incredible tool, if you know what you are doing. Don't have a date this week? Turn on your phone, swipe a few times, make about 4 back-and-forths of small talk, get them digits, and voila! It's like ordering off of Amazon instead of going to the store.

Bumble has worked best for me.

No FB for me, so all of your fancy new programs are non-applicable. I agree that meeting girls for the night isn't hard without apps. There are plenty of them around. Most are idiots, and only good for one thing

My objection is that I think that if a woman is on a dating service, she's probably looking at multiple other dudes too.
If not, then something is wrong with her, so why should I be considering her?
In Laffy; BR; N.O.; I don't think it's big enough to get a decent pool of women. Houston & Atlanta seem to have better selections.
In my prejudiced opinion it's mostly hard-legs chasing hard-up women in South Louisiana.

A lot of the ones in New Orleans I talked to had just moved here, or moved back after living somewhere else. Some end up liking different stuff than their friends as they get older. You'd be surprised how little the normal ones actually meet up with guys.
In BR and Lafayette, you're gonna know a lot of them already (if you're not a hermit)

I come across girls I have known all my life and just swipe them left even if I wouldn't mind hitting.
I also keep my age range set down a bit lower and it usually keeps the girls that I know the most out of my swipe range.

We are due for another experiment where the OT directs a willing participant in their online dating profile creation and subsequent interactions

Think Slopes created a profile with the name SuperSaint and a bio for some website once. Don't remember what it was for. May have been that real doll forum

Is left swipe good or bad?
I honestly don't know

Left means you don't care to match with them. Right means you will match with them if they swipe you right as well.

After my divorce in 08, I used a couple sites because my social world correlated with my ex-wifes. I actually met my current wife through a girl I met on one of the sites.
