Still here. Still up. I haven't slept in about two days. I have a sedative but I'm reluctant to take it.
To answer your question, the report isn't back yet. Any time you have limited mobility it's a risk factor for pulmonary embolism but I don't know.
The hardest part is she's struggled with anxiety and depression all her life and the last three months have been the calmest and most stable I've seen her in the 15 years I've known her, despite the accident. The last two weeks were especially good. She went to some holiday parties which she was usually reluctant to go to, her friend took her to lunch on her birthday. She was looking forward to the future for the first time in years. Then she's gone. Unbearable.

again, i am so sorry that this happened...it's truly heart breaking, and i feel so badly for you...it's also an eye opener, i think for many people here...we like to believe things are within our control, but we just never know what can happen...i think we all put things like this out of our minds simply because it's too painful and unimaginable to consider...
please don't worry too much about taking the meds to help you rest...i have chronic insomnia, and lack of sleep can really mess with your head...you don't need that in addition to your grief right now...please take care of yourself even though it may seem hard to do so right now...

Why is that?
As I see it, you must be too exhausted to begin to process all of this stuff. I speak from experience wen I say you appear to be a prime candidate for a stroke right now.

I don't know. I just feel compelled to stay up.

TBH wouldn't mind that if it takes me out and doesn't leave me crippled

You will get through this. You are in a very low point in your life. Things will get better. Look at all the support you are getting here. We are all pulling for you. What would your lost love one want you to do? She would want you to move on and keep her in your heart. She would not want you to grieve so deeply in this manner.
Is there someone you can talk to? Someone to help you through this. You seem like a good guy. The world is better with you in it.

Com on Jim… stay strong man.. look I’ve been sober for three years and struggle at times. I still stayed sober during even the toughest times with my wife and even after she passed. I thought myself about giving up and wished I could go be with her. There are plenty of support groups you can find.

Edit: Who the hell downvotes the O.T. on this post? Pathetic.

Hi Jim
I know that you are still hurting and that is to be expected but wanted to thank you for sharing your story. I have lurked on this site for over a year but for many reasons never posted until today but reading your words has compelled me to.
I wanted to let you know that reading about your relationship with your SO has given me hope and on some level I hope that gives you a little comfort.
So thank you Jim.
I will be praying for you.
Also I believe that your significant other is still there for you. Talk to her she is still there just in a different form.

Funeral is today. We had to wait for a relative who lives overseas. This is going to be a rough one. Prayers, good thoughts, whatever, appreciated.
