The event will began with a march about a 20 mile radius around the event grounds before activities began.

Someone clarify that for me, please.

The way I read it, it means they will hold a march with a 20 mile radius around the event grounds? I know that isn't correct.

Basically just a bunch of people getting together and eating, singing, learning some history, different vendors, and health fair. There are always concerts and some Juneteenth's may have have figures like Tuskegee Airmen of Black Cowboys show up and they get a standing ovation etc....

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. Note that this was two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation - which had become official January 1, 1863. The Emancipation Proclamation had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the new Executive Order.

The actual event is always held on a Saturday so more people will be able to come.
