One of my friends calls himself a special snowflake. Like when he doesn't want to sit in the sun at an outdoor restaurant. "I'm a special snowflake; I need to sit in the shade."

Well. I got a few glimmers of civility from the other party. Mostly as a reflex from being the devil the day before. It's not good though.

What else is good?
There must be something.
There must be something.

What's going on with your you-stuff? Your groups and your sessions. Are you figuring out some good things?

I'm sort of curious about how hard it is to be completely honest. You know? Like, how long did it take you to tell everything? All the stuff that you didn't want anyone to know. And what did that feel like?

Well. It is definitely a process. It doesn't happen overnight. You don't just decide to open up to strangers. You tell your story. And then when you get affirmation rather than derision, it helps build confidence. And then the next time you add a few more details. And it builds.
It's an interesting environment, where the more you share, the more positive feedback you give. Vulnerability = Reward. And it builds on itself.
And I have to admit: there's a couple of things I'm still holding back. And I didn't realize I was holding them back until I went through this process. And now I can see that I have been selective. And it's interesting to isolate the things I chose to skip over. And question why. Because there's nothing I have revealed yet that has caused me harm. But I am still hesitant about some things.

And basically, it feels good. Taking the risk. And seeing the result. It's not what you expect. It's not what you fear. It's pretty great.

I guess you aren't going to say what you haven't said.
Complete honesty is an interesting thing. We don't really do it that much in real life, do we? Whenever I'm emotionally honest, like really, it feels good. And then I freak out and feel like I've revealed too much. And backtrack. Because I think that whomever I've spilled too is changing the way they see me. But then I feel lighter and better. And good.

I'm glad you're figuring that out.

Had a good run today of honest stuff. And I didn't get yelled at.
