Remember Alec Gifford? He was the second news anchor WDSU in New Orleans ever had. He used to tell the story about his promotion. His predecessor left temporarily and was expected to return soon. He went to the network to try his hand at a ridiculous new concept called the sit com. He was Dick Van Dyke, and needless to say he never came back.
He lived in Gentilly Woods for a time.

are you 7' tall? Google lists him as 6'1" DVD is actually quite tall for a physical comedian.
Im 6’2”.. and i dont give a shite what google says , he walked right by me and he’s not more than 5’10”, but more likely 5’9”… which is why i said ‘shorter than you’d think’ , i too always assumed he was a tall guy after growing up with him on television .. then again, he would have been pushing 80 years old when I saw him.. men start to lose height after 40 years old.. im 47 and i used to be closer to 6’3”, but ive already lost about 1/2 an inch of height .. is what it is .

An interviewer recently asked DVD his secret to living to be 100. Van Dyke said:
1. Go to the gym.
2 Don't hate.
Wise words.

This may be the most eye-opening stat I've ever seen.

I like Dick Van Dyke. Phenomenal entertainer. My wife watches his show on Sundays on metv . I learned just yesterday he was a pretty big alcoholic and checked himself into rehab at 50. Highest functioning alcoholic I’ve ever seen.
