Why is the beach closed from time to time because of excess sewage then?

Heavy rains decreases the salinity of the coastal waters allowing fecal coliform and other potential pathogens to proliferate.

How would they accomplish this?

They blow up the Old River Structure to divert the Mississippi River down the Atchafayla?

only way to change the water color is to remove all the mud bottoms and replace it with white sand.

last time i checked i dont think replacing the ocean bottom is in any way feasible

love the idea though, man if grand isle had white sand beaches and blue water it wouldnt smell so bad all the time

just wondering if it would work. Even if it did work, Louisiana would figure out a way to screw it up.

We need an exploratory study and committee.

As long as Allison gets paid after the water is blue, I think it's a great idea.

It will never be blue. We open the spillway almost every year now.

The sand and water aren’t the reason GI stinks

I swam a lot in BSL, Pass and Waveland. The beach isn't bad, the water does smell like pee and they have this black goop like clay all over.
Always thought it was cool you could go 100 yards out and be knee deep.

I don’t know how people can get in that nasty arse water.

simple... just walk into it

I grew up half a mile off the beach in Long Beach and cant even begin to count the days we spent on that beach and in the water. Its not that damn bad
