Have you seen the comments about weak men and working out with ladies and doing yoga?

I just avoid the gym outside of the small one at my office that doesn't have gym rats, just old dudes sitting in the sauna .

Every time I've been to a big gym I remember why I hate it. Grunters are hilarious though.

Really that's just my experience. I find it sad that most men are as weak as they are. I'm not saying everyone needs to be a power lifter but the overall fitness level of men in this country is pathetic.

I agree.

Back in the day American men had great fitness in the 50's and such. Yet for some reason you never see dudes back then with muscles so big it looks uncomfortable.

Cardio and body weight exercises were plenty to make them badasses.

ETA:

What does the military do? They probably know how to get men in shape the best.

Sucks because I love the sauna, but those old guys are naked as shite.

True story:

one time I went in there, a high up old guy in my company was completely naked and while we were sitting there, he laid a towel on the ground and started doing naked situps directly in front of me.

I had to hold in my laughter as I got up and walked out.

ETA:

Just wrap a towel around your waist like I do or lay one over your naked lap. Its not difficult

Allowing it to hit ones chest is not synonymous with bouncing it off of ones chest

I notice that a lot now too. I assume this is to protect the rotator cuff. I always touched my chest and held to a count of one before I locked out. My shoulders are pretty bad now after years of it. If I was going to bench like that, I would just use a machine or Smith machine.

Yoga is 1000x more beneficial for everyday life than some BB split.

Out of curiosity, why all the hate for bench press?

IMO there are just other ways to achieve those results without putting that kind of strain on the shoulder joints.

Also, I'll use DB's any day before bench press, as it actually teaches your muscles and joints to work independently. People have a tendency to overload the bench trying to look all bad arse, but their form will suffer tremendously due to too much weight and/or muscle imbalances. DB's are much better at keeping good form and helping correct muscle imbalances.

It's why I do the Beachbody programs. I don't have the time nor the resources to make my own muscle-building routine.

Dumbbells, cables, any and all varieties of pushups, etc.

Basically every chest exercise besides bench press.

This is one of them threads where OP wholeheartedly believes he knows what he's talking about, but is just way off.

Can tell he's the type to bounce the bar off his chest with momentum.
