My school makes you show ID and sign out the kid. They check both and then release the kid. Sounds like they let the guy grab whatever kid he wanted and walk out. That kid needs to learn about strangers.

After reading this I asked some parents who have students at BRIS. The story shared at the parent support meeting was the child was taken while on the playground during aftercare. The teachers thought nothing of it because the child hugged the Uncle back. Then when the Mom came to pick up her kid, he was gone. And the school said their security cameras could not pull up the video.

Reminds me of being the kid who's parents (or more often, older brother) just straight up forgot to come pickup.
