I knew a guy once... his first move was always ignore problems, and if that didn’t work, he ran away from them.

He wasn’t hard to corner though. When you did, turned out he had noodle for a spine, and didnt know how to say no. He’d flat out embarrass himself.

He liked to wears these.

I don't think Grunt Style existed when I was in. The big thing then was Affliction.

When I was in they gave you the basic Army PT shirt.
Then they also had the basic Army company you were in sweats you could pay extra for.
Simple, cheap, and they worked fine.

This is stolen valor

As a vet, I don't consider wearing Grunt Style t-shirts as stolen valor but I do get a chuckle out of people who never served wear them. Especially any shirt that has a military joke reference and they don't really know the meaning behind it.

I never had any. They came out years after I left active duty. I don't remember them having anything to do with the military, though? Did they? I simply remember skulls, bones, flames, and wings. Lol

I feel the same way. I do, however, hate saying Semper Fi to someone wearing an obvious USMC shirt only to hear this reply: "...oh, the shirt was given to me..." or something similar.

It's not stolen valor, but it is odd.

That could also be the "served three years as an mp and never deployed starter pack"

Yeah, I can understand someone wearing a Semper Fi shirt and not serving in the Marines. Hell, I was in the Army and wouldn't do that.

I had an ex girlfriend that had a couple she got from a friend who didn't serve. I thought it was odd. One of them was an inside military joke, cant' remember what it was but she didn't wear it when I explained it to her.

I rock a "Rock or Something" shirt often because I got a kick out of it on the MRE heater, even have a sticker of it on my truck. I mean, you have the smartest people on the planet at Natick Labs and they decide "Hey, let's tell them to prop up the heater on a rock or something".

I always thought REMFs were pussies until I was deployed and realized they were just smarter than me.

The heater thing was just coming around, I believe, as I was going through bootcamp. I don't remember even seeing it until MP school. Maybe I'm wrong...but I only used it a few times. It was simply a time wasting device to my tastebuds. It all tasted the same hot or cold. Lol

They were great for making bombs. All you needed was a 20 oz Coke bottle and take the stuff in the heater and add a little water. With the included Tabasco bottle you made a makeshift tear gas bomb.

Threw one in the open window of a second story barracks room once when I was at Polk as a prank. Fun times..fun times.

I read a story about it a few years ago and the guys that developed it admitted they did it as a joke.

Ha! I never heard of that. It sounds fun, though!

Those little bottles of Tabasco wore always being used for evil.
