Don't even get me started... last Friday I had 4 high school girls, maybe 16 years old
They all got separate checks, one girl her bill was $9.56, and she gave me a $10 bill. Everyone else had cards so they didn't pay cash.
I was handing back the credit card slips to the 3 girls and the 4th girl who paid cash said "Do you have my change?" and I was pretty upset. I dug the $.44 cents out my pocket, but I made sure to take extra long to do it and only gave her nickels and pennies out of spite. I made a total of $1.50 on the table, one girl tipped me a $1.50 and the other 3 stiffed me.
Ok let me start off by saying I always tip minimum 20% and am probably one of the best customers to have as far as politeness and understanding goes. I put plates together and help pick up things to make it easier, tip well, and hate complaining or causing a scene. I have empathy for those that wait tables, but god damn do yall complain a lot

Majority of black people tip for shite.
Those are just facts, not a false stereotype.
Kind of like majority of white people don't have rhythm.
ETA:
Majority meaning there are exceptions to both.
FWIW, I overtip and I'm over polite. My wife says it makes it awkward because I'm "Truman Show" nice to servers haha

Probably, but lets not act like in some of those instances our race doesn't come in to factor.
I live in the real world and I am being honest and fair
If you weren't looking for it you would have never had an issue.

That's why half the French quarter restaurants lock their doors during essence week.

I wouldn't be, your posts sound like you are the good type of black party
Usually our LBTs are the ghetto street trash high on weed or just really trashy all around, think Maury or Jerry Springer types, you know the group with a guy who has fathered 6 kids with 6 different women or the loud obese woman who has popped out 5 different kids from 5 fathers in the past 5 years. These types 80% of the time are obnoxious cause a ruckus and get something discouted or comped off their ticket.

My wife and I are both educated professionals. It is rare that we get a night out to ourselves, so we really look forward to going out. 90% of the time we have no issues. Every once in a while we will get a server who clearly wants nothing to do with us for whatever reason. Now, when we look around and see you clearly being more attentive to your other customers and short changing us, don't expect a great tip.
That's everyone in the world. That's being a customer. It isn't necessarily a race thing. I'm white. When I go out to eat 90% of the time I get decent to good service. 10% of the time I get shitty service, and sometimes the server is rude. That's the way the world works.

My experience with high school kids was the exact opposite. I dreaded having to wait on them. They trashed the table, mixed the salt and pepper together, put water in the ketchup bottle, etc. I was in college at the time.

As a former Chilis server and cook, there is nothing better than throwing a bunch of unnecessary kindness and patience to an a-hole customer. It is hard to do sometimes but it is fun to mind frick them right out of their socks.
Yep. I LOVE it. Killing someone with kindness isn't just a cheesy quote we tell children. It is the most satisfying evildoing ever.

I want to like you as a poster, but you have such a tendency to switch words around.
I never stated I look for anything. Actually I was very honest when I said over 90% of the time I have had zero issues.
I did say that I believe a few of my issues were due to our race.
Several posters who work in the service industry have even backed this up.
I also admitted to understanding the stereotype.
If you say so.

Honestly, I would rather a really polite table that doesn't tip over a really rude table who does.
I was in the minority for that at my old job.

I go to a upscale restaurant by the house a good bit.
Usually for lunch because they have a daily special that is pretty cheap and always delicious.
But it is usually just me having a few beers. I will tip five or six bucks on two or three budweisers poured into a glass.
At a busy bar or club I never tip on beer, but this place the girl knows what I want when I get there, knows my name, family and friends, and always makes time to talk to me and check in if I need anything.
Restaurants, even with bad service or iffy food, is always 20%. Can't afford a tip, eat at home or fast food.

I agree with you, the only thing I said was that sometimes, although probably rarely, it is a race thing.
Why the hell are people getting so defensive that most people in here will admit to?

This is my ranking.
Black women
Middle aged white women
High school kids
Old people
Black men (dining alone. When with women, they are classified in the black women category because the woman takes over)
Young white women/sorostitutes
Younger white couples/families
Young white men
Middle aged white men
Middle aged white men, especially without their wife present, are #1. They are the ideal customer.
+1. Except I would swap middle aged white women and high school kids since I was a college guy working at Chilis and would get tips for being "courteous and cute". Business men (no particular race) were always great tippers. Start shooting the bull with them, mostly sports or career goals, offer them excellent service, and it was always a good tip.

You shouldn't, it has nothing to do with what I have been saying.
I don't consider being black as a disease, crutch, or disadvantage. The only thing i have tried to do is add my perception to this thread in a respectful manner.
