There is a swingers club on the 800 block of Gravier. It’s a can’t miss if they are waking that way.

Agree be cautious but the NOLA race fear on the OT never ceases to amaze.

I like Luke. August is better, but at a price point that isn’t that much better.

Luke: during the day, fine to walk Gravier; at night, they could walk from the hotel to Poydras, then Poydras to St. Charles, then St. Charles to Luke, which would be maybe one extra block total

Seanger: eh, Canal St. has deteriorated a lot, so maybe a couple of cab or Uber rides might be better, but maybe the weekend after Mardi Gras the thugs will be all thugged-out

August: Luke is fine, but August can be spectacular

The bus stop on Basin and Canal is sketchy af. Surprised there isn’t more muggings around the Saenger. A nice theater being surrounded by a bunch of trash is the most NOLA thing ever.

I wouldn't send my mom down Canal by herself, but I would be alright with my dad and her going.

To Luke is perfectly fine. And honestly, my sister and mom did Saenger a few weeks ago witu no issue, so I am probably more of a nervous nancy than I should be about the situation.

Uh, Tulane and Canal are more or less parallel. They don't intersect. So take that warning with appropriate salt.

Probably means the Elk/Rampart/Simon/Canal quadrangle area.

Not sure why someone would expect more muggings. People taking the bus ain't exactly ballin'. But that is some OT logic bleeding through.

First, I basically agree that that area is sketchy. If you look at my other post in this thread, I suggested not walking to the Saenger: "Canal St. has deteriorated a lot, so maybe a couple of cab or Uber rides might be better."

But your geography continues to not really add up, suggesting a less-than-intimate knowledge of the area. Between the Windsor Court and the Saenger you don't quite get to Basin and Canal, and that's not what I'd call "next to Tulane", because the Tulane University medical center is mostly over on Tulane Ave. with a backside protrusion onto Canal a block or two further than the Saenger.
