FWIW- I hate the idea, anything the Gov runs is horribly managed.
Literally all taxes are ultimately paid by the consumer.

The U.S. spends almost $9,000 per person on healthcare. More per capita than any other country.

Nope. Wages would not go up to compensate for the increase in taxes. Do they now when our premiums rise? Mine does not.

Because even the VA hates the VA system and that is exactly what govt. run hospitals and clinics would result in, moar VA type crapcare.

He’s talking about the money employers kick in to cover their employees. Presumably, under UHC, you tax the individual to pay for it, so employers wouldn’t have to pay insurance premiums anymore.
The question is, do they bank that money or pass it down to the employees in the form of extra wages.

If I had to guess, I’d say it’ll be here in the next 10-20 years.
I have many concerns, but I’m hopeful that it works out.

Because US healthcare is that much more expensive.
An interesting idea, if government healthcare would save big companies that much more money. Why aren't big corporations who have the most influence on US policies pushing to have this done?
