The Mallett family was caught stealing rice from farmer's bins. They were well known thieves in the 60's & 70's in the Iowa area and that was when rice made bank,

I'm familiar with the name. What companies does he own and how'd he get to be a political player?

Who wouldn’t trust a guy named “Chester”?
Never heard what the monthly program cost was but it’s basically buying your way out of jail. Political donations are just a cost of doing business.
Also forgot he was on the board of the company company he defrauded

No one quit. They fired the vice president of marketing and communications and chancellor of the health science center in New Orleans. The communications guy wasn’t much of a surprise, he’s from prior regime, but HSC chancellor has been at lsu for 40 years and is/was highly regarded

Seems like Mallet has been proving himself a 1st rate a-hole for years now. This is surprising even for Landry.

Actually, this seems right in line with what I've come to expect from Landry the more I see and hear from him.

Landry is so bad I may vote Democrat next time to send a message. He's the epitome of the stupid Republican, tilting at silly culture war foolishness, while ignoring real problems and fellating the PI bar. He's a Temu John Kennedy.

I have yet to meet anyone who will admit to liking him in private.

He's so bad it's almost laughable. There are a few here that still try to defend him but they are few and are really just defending the R by his name and not him because he's pretty indefensible overall. Even most Repubs here realize the issue - as you have described perfectly IMHO.

Lee Mallett's father. BTW my ex father in law owned the Iowa Rice Drier and everyone in the rice biz knew about the Mallett family.

I guess I was wrong to believe conservative people were finally wising up and being pragmatic instead of idealistic about politics.

Vote for a Democrat and enjoy Louisiana being subject to the whims of whatever national democrats want to do.

Just vote for someone besides Omar - it's up to the Repubs to run someone competent against him. It looks like Greenland's all Trump's gonna give him so he's probably gonna run again.

Landry’s chief of staff (Kyle) left to run Landry’s PAC. More than once Kyle has left or taken leave from COS positions to run the campaign for whomever he was working for.

Only because Landry is SO delusional and egotistical did I wonder if he was going to make a run for the White House in the next election. There’s not a doubt in my mind that President is his goal.

But maybe Kyle left the governors office for personal reasons and I’m reading too much into it and Landry will run for reelection. I would like for Garrett Graves to run against him, but he’s seemed hesitant to do so.

I can buy this - His actions since he first came on the political scene have shown nothing but self-promotion and self interest.
