Everything was fine for the first few months but lately every time I take a deep breath or sit/lay down I hear and feel a crackling sound/pressure in that ear. I haven’t had any drainage at all and there’s no pain.

Is this normal or a sign that something is going on?

That's the sound of the roach eggs hatching. Once the babies grow big enough, they'll clear out and you'll be fine.

I think it fricked up your brain. No other reason to ask the OT instead of a doctor.

Do adults often get tubes?

I thought that was a kid thing.

Sounds like yours is loose.

I’ve had tubes placed in that ear twice as an adult.

Ear AIDS is the only possible diagnosis.

It’s a bad ear. Always has been.

that's an assumption. You prob just don't realize the drainage.

But why?

Always infected? Bad hearing? What ailment does the tube fix in a adult?

I was born with a fricked up Eustachian tube and it ended up destroying that eardrum. Surgeon cut it out and built a new one when I was little. Then it continued to get worse throughout the years. Drainage, infections, declining hearing, severely retracted eardrum, etc..

Sound like you know more about ears than the OT.

sounds like the tube is doing what it’s supposed to do. It’s just a vent through your ear drum, so I assume the air and crackle you’re hearing is pressure from behind your eardrum escaping out.

I’m not an ENT but I’ve had tubes several times. So I could be wrong but I’ve also experienced what you’re experiencing.

I’m hoping that’s all it is.
