If there is a part of town that has a lot of robberies, and I go to that part of town anyway knowing this and I get robbed.
Is it my fault or the Robbers?

It’s why I keep a set of ratty slave clothes to wear and drive my beater when I go to bad areas of town like Tony’s.

When I lived in Baton Rouge, I wouldn’t go to Tony’s. It’s surrounded by Somalians.

The robbers.
But, passive victim blaming is fun. It sends the message that we are smarter that the victim and it could never happen to us. Basically, a self-protection lie we tell ourselves so we don’t go crazy. We are all alive by the grace of the stranger next to us who could kill us at any moment. Sleep well, he whose wise decisions protect and prevent all evil.

It is not your fault, but you also know the consequences of going to that part of town and you'll have to live with them. Or die with them. Either way.
