re: Got a damn DUI today

MADD is the biggest problem. DUI limits used to be .15, the .12, then .1, now .08. That is mostly due to MADD in the 80s and 90s.
Statistically, something like 80%+ of DUI fatalities involve a BAC of .16 or above.
"Impairment" of .08 is probably subjectively equivalent to eating a cheeseburger, talking on the phone or changing the radio station will driving. It is almost an imperceptible impairment.

Don't blow is a one year admin suspension.

No, because this has turned into a big industry for lobbyists, cops, and judges. It pulls in millions for them.
When BAC levels go down, government intrusion into our lives goes up.
In fact the intrusion has reached a point where we set up road blocks so that every innocent passer by gets interrogated like in a third world dictatorship.
We've gone so far that the government can stick needles into your body against your will and extract your blood.
There is something fundamentally wrong with this.

We need to quit letting zealots control our lawmaking. MADD has too much legislative influence.

Agree. I will also say lawmakers are the problem along with the lobbyists that pay them to make the bullshite laws, primarily the criminal justice system including the cops, lawyers and prisons that make hundreds of millions per year on these laws.
I can't blame MADD too much. They are totally irrational and without logic but they as a group are too emotionally impaired to behave rationally.
I had to go to one of their panels as part of the dismissal of my "dui" (lol). The stories are absolutely heartwrenching. I carried around a card with a picture of one of the victims for months. It was an impactful panel. However I will also note the girl whose picture I carried around after the meeting was killed by someone speeding at 3x the legal speed limit with a BAC of .20 who wiped out a mailbox swerving and hit a tree after hitting the victim.
DUI laws should target that kind of impairment, not bullshite .08 levels that are designed to purely to steal money.

Meh. you'll get offered PTI. You'll have to do a counseling session, go to a class at the court house, some hrs of community service, and pay a fee. Will cost you ~$1500.

How incredibly lazy do you have to be to knowingly drive around with a broken signal light? That 10 minute fix is going to cost you loads of time with counsel, court, driving classes, etc. Perhaps the silver lining will be that you gain an appreciation of the value of time, if nothing else.

So you got pulled over for making a right turn without signaling? I assume the cop was following for a while.
Sucks.

On one of my favorite police shows, Live PD, almost every drug bust, warrant arrest, or drunk driving begins with a failure to signal a turn or a non functional light bulb on the vehicle. Why give the police an opportunity to grab you? It is what it is.

If you honestly only had 3 2/3’s bud lights in 2.5 hours then that cop is a dickbag

Refusing to blow might bode well for you if you get a lawyer. I’ve known a few people get theirs changed to a different charge. Blowing and failing there isn’t much to fight. Hopefully you didn’t tell the cop much. Call a DUI attorney ASAP and get a free consult. And, don’t drink and drive again especially with how cheap an Uber ride is these days.

You have to Uber in that situation. It's too costly not to.
Did you blow? What do you do for work?
You might not have to go through TOO much trouble.
