To answer a few of the questions:
I will using the gopro to record lots of things. Hiking, sledding, snow boarding-falling, kayaking, biking, northern lights.
Also look forward to using the timelaps/slow-motion settings.
I will be uploading to youtube and vimeo.
Not sure exatly what you mean, but I'd probably be down to try it.
And to those knocking Alaska. I love it here. The snowfall is coming any day now and I can't wait to hit to hillside and take my boy sledding.
Hell, even if I didn't like it, there's not a damn thing I could do about it. Here on orders.

I wouldn't get the LCD back. Gopros suck batteries pretty quick. Just use the WiFi in it and control it from your cellular phone app.
