I believe Goodwill might even be a for profit company.

Most of that would be profits go to executive compensation.
It's a non-profit with 88% of revenues going directly toward programs. I wish all you dumbasses would stop getting your information from Facebook.

What you linked is a very small portion of the entire enterprise of Goodwill. Your link says they are about a $40 mil a year company, when in fact its in the billions. They have over 150 entities. The vast majority of their goodwill is for jobs and expenses related to training and employing people. They also include donating items they cant sell to third world countries ad goodwill as well.

Does anyone know where I can make a drop off to help people in need at this time?
Capitalism, bitch. It never dies.

FWIW We donate to goodwill when its just random stuff. However, we do save up certain items to donate to various organizations around us. Kids stuff and womens clothes to womens/moms shelter, mens dress clothes, shoes, etc.. to dressed for success for men and homeless shelter, etc... But if its random household items, goodwill is usually just the easiest to pawn off stuff.

They are christian based. It is currently cool to hate christian based organizations.

Left wing populists, eco-nuts, PETA..
Ok. The list continues.
Unlike those groups you listed, the Salvation Army is not transparent with their motives and personal benefit. They put on a false sense of “feeding the hungry” to scam people into donating goods and coins so that they can actually create literature on how to bring the law down on people that don’t live according to their religious morality.
At least orgs like PETA let people know they’re assholes and what they truly stand for. Salvation Army lies.
