I couldn't think of a better way to put it. I didn't want to call him a cop basher, and I don't think he is anti-cop, but he usually is critical of their actions, and rightfully so.

Actually this is more of a criticism of policy. Like someone always brings up, it's not the LEO that made the policy decisions. It's almost always their lobby that pushes it through legislature instead.

If you weigh what a cop makes against the temptation to be dirty that policy creates in so many different ways...gotta be a tough call.

ETA- a lot of states have seized money go into the general fund. That definitely offsets taxes that would be spent. Ironically in those states seizures are much less than jurisdictions where the money goes back into the LE agencies budget.

It always cracks me up when someone tries to claim that LEO have no discretion in the laws they enforce, that they don't make the rules.
