still get two bags free for me and my companion on United. And both can be up to 70 lbs.

Same here, 2 checked bags per person up to 70lbs each no extra charge.

With out status on any airline it will suck.

I use to fly the ERJ-145 for one of Uniteds regional carriers. I had constant interaction with United employees primarily in Houston, Newark, and Chicago and they all hated smisek. He pretty much dismantled and outsourced labor for out station ground handlers and customer service and cost thousands of people there jobs or forced them to relocate if they had seniority.

He also pulled the plug on Cleveland which is historically a great continental base and refuses to concede in Dulles or Denver despite the fact they were getting their asses kicked last I checked.

He had a tough job trying to bring two companies together but the fact that he's a bean counter with poor labor relation skills didnt help him. Plus the dude looks very rapey

I know you only get one for AA gold (the equivalent of UA silver). I don't know delta's lowest status off hand, but I'd be surprised if it was different.

omeone on flyertalk was saying how all the employees at newark were in a great mood today, must've been a sight to see . I'll get to see how improved the morale is after the syracuse game with BUF-EWR-MSY.

I flew United out of EWR to MSY this morning just before the announcement so I missed it.

The plane was actually really nice though.

I fly United all the time...got a United credit card. Have never had a single issue. They've actually bent over backwards a few times to help me out.

American Airlines and Southwest are different stories. I only fly them when they're the only option.

Was it an airbus? I used to prefer the Boeing planes, but the upgraded airbus for United and AA are nice. The A321T for American was really slick. Except for having to sit in the back with no leg room and them constantly running out of overhead space for us nobodies.

737-900 - plugs at every seat for the commoners.

I guess my one "horror" story was my Thailand honeymoon award booking. They royally fricked up my original itinerary and I sent a bitch fest email to all the execs I could find online that would be over such an issue, including Smisek after 8 or so unproductive hours on the phone.

Luckily enough I had pieced together another itinerary myself. But they still made sure to upgrade some portions for me that didn't have business class available so I'll give them that.

However, I don't fly the itinerary until December so they still have some time to mess up the domestic segments
