Morning Fish, Aspy.....

Butch, they were predicting major over toppings of the river since the illustrious Corp of Engineers wrote off the southern end of the double P and the entire eastbank when they built their walls.
They reduced the estimate a foot and now they say none should occur either inside or outside the protection areas. I walked over yesterday afternoon and we still had about 10 feet free board so I think I'm good.

Check with me in the morning, if I'm posting pics from my boat you'll have your answer!

79, what's left on the East Bank below Braithwaite?

IMHO, I think protection in the Braithwaite area should be increased and forget about anything south of there....now that being said, if you want to live below there, you build on pilings or using the Dutch model of building a hill above flood level...

That's not entirely true Butch...You have good farmland all the way down to Phoenix, the problem, like always is the loss of wetlands. We NEVER had these issues when they had the marsh barrier. Unfortunately I believe they will never fix this ginormous "f" up. Between the Corp, the locals and the commercial interests, its looks like a monkey trying to frick a football.

Where to old Woodlawn High School is, it NEVER flooded. It didnt flood for Betsy or Camille or Katrina. When Issac or Gustav came it flooded......That was the highest point down there
