I've used one in a gas station in Harahan on Jefferson highway before, but it's been years.

I need an intake cleaned and surfaced, then two heads stripped, cleaned and surfaced.

Then my block depending on if I strip it or have it stripped.

I have a 390, it turns over with a pry bar but hasn't ran in 36 years. Numbers matching so I want to be careful with the parts and reuse the old stuff.

Just built mechanical fuel pump to handle ethanol, but I can't do lathe and surface work.

I know there are car guys here.

If you lurk, hit me up at

That's the most testosterone I've read in a single post on the OT in months, if not years.

It made my chest hairs tingle.

Go back to them, and Ronnie and Wayne will take good care of you...

Not Nola but B&B Machine in Ponchatoula aint bad and they're really cheap because their overhead is low.

Also, I'd mic that bitch before I send it off. This is Louisiana. Nobody here is busting out the specs and making sure everything's blueprinted unless you're going to a place that builds Dragsters and even then maybe not.

I would give them the specs, give them a range or number to shoot for, tell them you mic'd it before you brought it and you're going to mic it when the work's done.

Also, watch for over spray if they paint it. It's hard to tape off something like an intake or cylinder head so that shite ends up everywhere

This, my boy does excellent mechanic work on all kind of custom and older vehicles alike and shows me pics when we're out drinking. They are the real deal and cheaper from what I hear.

Yeah. First the old man and then he, went through the heads on my Discovery and my Civic. I want to say the old man did something else for me too.

Wasn't too impressed with me shoving my factory service manual in his face and telling him I want it done JUST. LIKE. THIS. But my ocd rubs a lot of ppl the wrong way. Especially here in "that's good enough" Louisiana.

Im not talking overspray on the machined surfaces. Although, if I were, then yes, the order you proposed would eliminate that problem. Im talking about over spray in intake and exhaust ports(unless youre port and polishing or port matching), threaded studs and holes, non-machined surfaces such as t-stat mating surface, sensor ports, etc.

Cadillac. It's not the good 390.
It's the one that's really hard to get parts for.
Damn rebuild kit cost more than I paid for my last 350 block.
