And guess what?

They squandered that away too. Like most all money they basically steal from those of us who work for it.

You don't need an environmental impact study if you aren't using federal dollars.I promise you, there is a way to fast track this.

But if we do it with private money, you have to be able to pay those investors back, with a profit. Something this huge is going to take a lot of damn money, either now or later.

It's not like people are lining up to invest in a loop, the quote in the article even says he "thinks" they could find private investors. If I had the money to invest millions in things, it sure as frick wouldn't be potential Louisiana toll roads

Will end up being just another tax at the end of the day. The state spending problem will never end and this will be another way to prove it. Unless we get someone that seriously adheres to fiscal conservatism and in this state that the unicorn yall were discussing earlier.

I've been saying for years that a BR loop will not happen until a politically strong governor gets 100% behind the project and twists arms and deal makes with the state wide politicians and the NIMBY folks. Think of how McKeithen twisted arms to get the Superdome built.

Yep...that’s why I will NEVER vote yes for a tax. The capital is literally crumbling down, but we continue to fund BREC and CATS, which I still never see more than a few riders on the buses. BR is like that family with a pos rundown house and pos rundown car that has $15K worth of rims and stereo equipment.

All this.

I guarantee CATS is a net loss for the city, and it would actually be cheaper if we paid individual taxi rides for their current riders (not that the taxpayers should be paying other's bus fares anyway)
