I was back at work the next morning after getting it around 5pm the day before

I slept through the uncomfortable part using a combination of ambien and bourbon

I've considered it as my vision isn't the best, but it's not the worst either. I have glasses that I only wear once a year maybe, during a continuing education type class. I guess I just figure it's expensive and I'm used to my vision...but natural 20/20 sounds nice. Any cost figures? Does insurance help cover?

About $2200 is what I’m paying for both eyes. That includes consultation, pre opt, procedure and surgeon fees, and 2 post opt visits

I got a discount with my insurance but it’s geverally not covered since it’s considered an elective procedure

That doesn't seem too bad considering it's amazing vision we're talking about. It's probably also much better technology and a much better process these days as oppose to some of these guys who are very pleased with what they got 10-15 years ago.

Coworker had it done and loved it. You might have some dry eyes for a couple weeks is all. Good luck.

Do not frick around. Follow the instructions you are given to the letter.

You will have to sleep with goggles for a few days so you don't rub your eyes at night.

I went to the movies without my glasses the next day.

You take a Valium during it and they give you more ambien than you’d ever need afterwards. Well worth it.

The first weekend is a little rough. Not so much pain but very comfortable. Plan to take it really easy and keep up with your drops.

You should be good to go for work on Mon. For the next 2 weeks, the only symptoms you will probably have is dry eyes but that is very manageable with prescription drops.

After that you will be golden.

The burning smell of the laser is accurate. Honestly, I was scared shitless, couldn’t even relax with Valium. Total actual procedure time is 1-2 minutes and you don’t even feel anything because they numb your eyes.

I didn't smell a thing.

The procedure is wild when you realize... Holy shite. I just watched this guy just casually open up my eyeball while we chat about LSU football

It's like putting your eyes through a cheese grater. Only with a nice burning smell.

You will walk out of the room with better vision than you've ever had. In a couple of hours your eyes will burn painfully. If you are smart, you will take a pain pill and a sleeping pill. You will wake up with perfect vision.

I did it 18 years ago, and it was the best purchase I've ever made.
