This, what if he asked her....then she is just answering his question.

He said she brought it up herself.

You really don't know HOW it was brought up, so assuming things about this broad is pretty dumb...

I'll say this.....I've never asked about an ex on a 1st date, and OP said she brought it up, and I've never had a woman bring it up on a 1st date.

She isn't ready....I know it. Otherwise she would have much more important things to talk about.

And if she doesn't, then she's boring AF and a second date wouldn't happen.

She prolly said so it wouldn’t like she was trying to hide a pretty big issue in her life. Idk I’m not the chick but that would be my reasoning.

Makes more sense then

At my age...anyone I will date will either likely be divorced or widowed

I checked the location to make sure.

I figured you weren’t from around here because a lot of divorcees in the dating pool around BR are between 18-25. If they don’t go off to college, they marry the baw immediately, pop out a kid, then divorce him.

Nah, it wasn't really like that. We were talking about how crazy 2020 was and everything we experienced. It was kinda hard not to discuss that subject since it happened in March for her.

So because she maybe went on a date too soon and is still hurting and may be rusty of appropriate first date chat she deserves a “hit it and quit it”? Why not just not go on second date then with her and be a decent human and not add to her pain instead of taking advantage of someone still emotionally vulnerable.

She's an adult. She should know what she's getting into.

She could have avoided it...but you're 28 and still learning about women.
