My older standalone GPS shows dirt roads everywhere. Fire roads, national forest roads and names, roads through fields, etc. It has saved me some time, but it has also gotten me in some trouble going down muddy, gated, or backfilled roads.

Almost got stuck on a powerline trail that it thought was a road once. That was up by the Grand Canyon in feather Indian territory. I ended up cutting through the woods to some other dirt double-track and actually saved a half hour. Lucky I made it out with my scalp though.

Success. It took only 3.5 hours to get from the LA-TX stateline to I-10 in Laffy. The center of the state is a cluster frick.

In the past 5 days I've driven from LC to Lafayette to DeRidder to Abbeville without any problems using Waze.

Friday I'll try my luck driving from LC to BR.

Waze is totally fricked for me lately. Constantly telling me to drive to the starting point. It did it to me on Airline and on I-10 in the last month. It is acting up even after uninstalling the App and even after wiping my phone.

I have had to use Google Maps lately.

This. First time i really tried it and it sucks.

Heading from New Orleans to Breaux Bridge early Thursday morning. Better to go south and take 90? Seems that I-10 area east of Lafayette might back up a lot?

Waze has cost me more time overall than it has saved me.

I find that Google Maps is better. There are no cute icons, but it consistently reroutes me when needed.
